GALTx eNews: Help Us Do More In 2024!

We hear that donors are disengaging and giving less. Our experience is consistent with that reality, but we need the opposite to be true! We stand ready to continue to help the hounds! Please stand with us so that together we can do more in 2024!

We need at least five "Holiday Angels" to pledge $1,000 each to start a matching fund for our crucial year end giving campaign. Our Holiday Angels can dedicate their pledged gifts to a current beloved hound or a dearly missed rainbow bridge pup. We will recognize the gift with two photos (of the hounds and/or donors) of the donor's choice on a special web page. If you prefer, you can also remain anonymous. Email bchristian@galtx.org today to become a Holiday Angel!

The matching funds provided by our Holiday Angels will double the power of the additional generous gifts we receive, making them go twice as far to help the hounds that come to us in the new year. We never know what circumstances are headed are way, but we expect to continue to be called on to help strays in serious medical need, like Twyla (pictured), and sick hounds that come to us from shelters, such as Acme. We also look forward to welcoming additional retirees from Australia and plan to help some of the Aussies find their way as PTSD service dogs in the Dallas area. We have much to look forward to together that we cannot do alone.

If becoming a Holiday Angel isn't for you, please know that all donations help the hounds and are deeply appreciated. A month of heartworm preventative for one hound only costs about $10. Feeding a hound in boarding for a month only costs about $50. All gifts add up to big help. Our year end Facebook/Instagram fundraiser is already open to accept your gifts of any size, or if you prefer, you can always give on our website. Remember that, if you give by December 31, you might also help your 2023 taxes as we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Oh look, it seems like there's a Republican-led movement to purge voter rolls in the lead-up to the election! It's almost as if your vote matters and they don't want you to vote! Anyway, I whipped up a quick map (based on this) that shows when the voter registration deadline is in each state. There are a few deadlines coming up in the next week or so.

If you live in a state that regularly purges voter rolls for infrequent voters (the orange ones in the first map), or if you moved recently, it's good to check if you're still registered to vote.

Vote.org makes it super easy to check your registration: https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/

Just put in your address and DOB and they'll tell you whether you're registered. (And they give you a quick link to register online if it turns out that you're not! Only the 9 states in white on my map don't have online registration, and for those they provide instructions on how to do it via mail or in person.) If you want an extra verification, find your state's election website and double-check there.

So yeah, give yourself peace of mind -- do a quick check. :)

So since Trumpists are getting mad enough about the jokes to actually cite their sources, I thought I'd put the source out into my left extremist commie faggot echo chamber, too.

The claim originates from an ACLU questionnaire she filled out for her 2020 presidential candidacy, specifically this section:

She wasn't given a new questionnaire for 2024, and has stated that while her policy on some things may have changed, her values had not. (This most likely means she moved more to the center to appease larger demographics and cut corners to reach compromises. The basic politician stuff.)

It boils down to this: If you're in prison, whether for "illegal" immigration or other crimes, you rely on the state to provide you with necessary amenities, like food and health care. Her argument isn't "hell yeah everyone in prison should get sex changes for free". It's "gender affirming surgery is a necessary medical procedure. If you are in the states care while this becomes necessary, the state should provide it." If you're outraged by your tax money being used on this, consider the massive amount of people being incarcerated in for-profit prisons, on your dime. Then ask yourself if maybe a prison reform might be in order.

Worth noting: In 2015, while Attorney General, Kamala Harris actually argued against providing gender-affirming surgery to an incarcerated trans woman, claiming that HRT and psychotherapy were sufficiently covering her medical needs. She has since obviously changed her stance and assumed responsibility. (I would like to take this moment to remind my fellow left extremist commie faggots that "willingness to learn and rethink your views" is infinitely more valuable than "perfect from the start and unwilling to listen to anyone")

We are committed to doing more to help the hounds in 2024, but we still have a little work we need to do in 2023 to get ready. Our Holiday Angels pledged $20,000 in matching funds to make your year end gifts go twice as far. We are so "greytful" to them for their generous gifts. Got a bit out of hand with the prompt XD I ended up doing a scene inspired by this fic! Based on that time Marcille Izutsumi and Chilchuck were sharing a bed in chapter 47. It felt very memorable so I tried to recreate it but I kind of went offscript because I was basing it on my recollection of the fic lmao
